Tangerine Records and more

Hey folks. So last thursday we had a show downtown at Degrassi House. It was a cool evening, the venue was pretty nice (I'd never been there before), narrow but very long. Sidenote: We have noticed how easy it is to make narrow spaces look full; we will only play narrow venues from here on. =) The evening was opened by a great young band from Muskoka called Mistakes Well Chosen. They had a violin which was cool, AND the leader of that band was identical in every way you can imagine, to Jim Smith 4 years ago. It was quite amazing... I took my glasses off and I really couldn't tell the different between the kid on stage and the guy sitting next to me.

We hit the stage at about 10, pretty much on time. The set was quite good actaully, we had a lot of fans out which was really great. I've said it before and I'll say it again - you guys who come out to show after show, we love you, you are amazing. The sound itself was easily the worst part - the system wasn't very good, the equipment was lacking and...the soundman as well. Where was Bram Cayne?! hehe....

Anyway, the show was also our audition to be a part of the roster of Tangerine Records, hosted by president Rob Hancock. He had heard our CD before and really liked it, so he was anxious to hear us (I think). By the end of our set, I think he was very happy and impressed, and needless to say we passed our audition. He's a really cool guy and I think we all look forward to furthur dealings with him in the future.

So that was our fantabulous last gig. We went out to Golden Griddle afterwards. Again. They're gonna start to figure it out: anytime a HUGE group comes in at some ungodly hour, it's probably the post-JSB gig party. hahaha. Myself, I moved back to Waterloo last night. Time for the summer term. I've been dreading it for a long time, and I gotta say...I don't think I'm gonna like it here. I'm living with a bunch of strangers (sublets for my normal roomates) who are nice people, but...it's just not the same. Everything that I loved about living here feels like it's been sucked out. I'm coming home on many weekends. I think I'm gonna enjoy that.

Seacrest out
