Post, man

Hey hey hey,

It was a little quiet on the JSB front so I thought I'd say a little something. Also 'postman' just came on my playlist shuffle, and I was inspired. SO... We had a gig last weekend at the Markham Village Music Festival. What's amazing about that gig was that it was our 4th year playing at that event! Quite an accomplishment and a reminder that time really flies. Most of us were 16 when we first played that gig! Crazy! It was also a nice reminder how long the band has survived and is going strong, so that was cool. The gig itself was pretty good, we started the show strong and ended the show strong (unlike pancakes) and were all pretty happy. Thanks to all the fans who came out and did your thang. After the gig us and everyone who was there invaded not Golden Griddle, but Montana's (needless to say, the one near Roop's house). The post-show restaurant-run is always a good time. =) When we get big and famous, we won't have a backstage for after-parties...we'll just move on to the nearest open restaurant and take the whole amphitheatre with us. And ask for seperate bills. ahaha...

In other news, in the recent weeks and not too distant future some equipment aquisitions have been made by various members of the band to facilitate some sweet recording sessions later this summer, when I'm finally back from my summer term in Waterloo (August 12th seems so close!) so that is exciting. We don't think that another full-length album will be made this summer but we plan to work on a couple tracks...such as 'Drink Up Boy', to satisfy Tudor. =)

This coming Friday is Canada Day which is big for us, it might just be our first instance of two completely separate gigs in one day; correct me on that if I'm wrong someone. From 12-4pm we're playing Unionville Main St. and then at 9:45pm we're playing at Milne Park in Markham, before and after the big fireworks display! Should be a tiring day, but hopefully we'll get to play alongside Dan the Music Man once more. That's all I got folks!

Seacrest out.

Lots of Stuff

Three gigs have elapsed since we've had an entry giving everybody the what's up.

A week ago friday, we played a short set (shorter even since we were cut off prematurely) that started much later than we were told at the Degrassi House. Despite a number of technical setbacks, the gig was still ok.

We played at Dundas Square last Sunday for a crowd of hundreds. It was a thrill to play for a huge crowd on a big stage with huge sound. It also turns out that we were filmed for the CTV news, and were on TV!

Last Thursday we played our third show at the Smiling Buddha. The turnout was pretty good, especially for a thursday night. Usually, though, our energy is proportional to the size of the crowd and the response from the audience, but everything was REALLY tight and certain songs sounded better than they ever had before IMO.

I generally concider How to be a good song, but nothing exciting, but Naizor stepped up and smacked on some harmonies and it became, with harmonies, one of my favorites.
